Not only is the crown white but the center of it is raised. The tp tour preferred version of the aeroburner fairway metals features a heavier shaft shorter length a flatter lie angle slightly open face angle and a slightly small head. These features are more tour inspired and tend to be liked by the better players. While the aeroburner is not adjustable taylormade did leverage the speed pocket and thru slot technology to create a sweet spot that it claims is twice as large as other taylormade fairway woods.

But the distance comes via a flight that is high enough to offer an element of stopping power into greens. I got 1mph more club speed than my current fairway wood and three more yards. Whether this all adds up to a distraction or simply visual interest is in the eye of the beholder. The grip is not overly tacky but so far i have seen no reason to replace it.

In keeping with the aeroburner driver i reviewed taylormade has given the aeroburner fairway the aerodynamic and cosmetic treatment to create faster looks and performance. The aeroburner brings back taylormade s burner name in a big way by offering golfers a lighter faster and more forgiving fairway wood.
